Opening Day around SWR

Burlington TC, April 27th

Rain kept things indoors for Burlington’s opening day for the second consecutive year, but having the clubhouse (and the table tennis game) ensured a day of festive activities nonetheless.

Simon Burden made the RoadShow visit despite being unable to erect the SmashCage, and teamed up with Bruce Cates and other volunteers to keep the youngest players well occupied.

A draw for prizes is always a popular feature, and president Christina Wilson was happy to present them to the lucky winners.

Grimsby TC, May 4th

Thanks to President Ron Mauro for this report :

Our Opening was very successful on many levels. The 40 plus turnout, the Smash Cage, the tennis…which included a Doubles Clinic run by Simon (Burden), and the delicious lunch contributed to a fantastic day! Oh… did I mention even the weather gods were on our side? 70% chance of rain was forecast, but didn’t materialize!!!

Opening Day 2024 is in the books.

Milton TC, May 11th

The club has its 101st season off to a flying start after an opening day that featured two grill-masters who managed to turn out 120 burgers for the hungry crowd. Simon Burden kept things hopping in the SmashCage, while a crew of volunteers organized drills and target games on the courts.
