2026 Eastern Cdn Masters

2026 Eastern Canadian Masters

From April 15-19, the courts at The Club at White Oaks in Niagara-on-the-Lake were filled with 82 players competing for Eastern Canadian Men’s Masters Championship titles in six age divisions, from 30+ to 55+. Congratulations to Giovanni Rodriguez and his great team at White Oaks, and to Emma Shea who always handles the tournament desk to perfection.

The club offers very comfortable hospitality for the players, so much so that Tennis Canada has announced it will again be home to the event in 2027. Several players from SouthWest Region were among the participants, with Mustapha Jamal (Ancaster TC) winning the 35+ singles title.

The Tennis Canada website features extensive information about Masters tennis HERE :
Masters Tennis is a national program for players aged 30 and over, designed to celebrate lifelong participation in the sport. It offers competitive and social opportunities across Canada, connecting players through regional, national, and international events. Masters Tennis is more than competition; it’s a community built on passion, resilience, and connection. It promotes active living, lifelong friendships, and showcases Canadian excellence on the world stage.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) organizes an international circuit called the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour, with extensive detail HERE :
It begins with a Passion to Play, and a mantra : Meet. Compete. Thrive. Repeat. Are you an intermediate to advanced level tennis player looking for the opportunity to get involved in enjoyable competitions worldwide? The ITF World Tennis Masters Tour provides a range of team and individual singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for each five-year age increment from 30+ to 90+.

You don’t need to play at a high professional level, you don’t even need an international tennis ranking! Simply sign-up to receive your unique ITF IPIN (International Player Identification Number). There’s no cost to register – you only pay a fee for the tournaments you enter. Join the 30,000 players aged 30-98 who currently compete in over 580 tournaments worldwide as part of the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour.

That worldwide Masters Tour includes about a dozen events in Canada, across the calendar year and across the country. As Masters tennis grows in popularity, suggestions have been made that tournaments of a regional and local nature would be welcomed, particularly if they could involve shorter matches with a variety of opponents and completed within one day. If this is something that would interest you, please let us know.
