The Ancaster Tennis Club is in Village Green Park, behind the Ancaster Library at 291 Lodor Street in Ancaster. It’s a volunteer-run non-profit within the City of Hamilton parks and recreation system. There are five courts and a clubhouse, renovated and upgraded by the club members.
During the winter, courts are covered with an inflatable dome (bubble), which was installed in 2022 with sponsorship from Tennis Canada’s Year-Round Community Tennis Courts program, presented by ROGERS. The project was also supported by a substantial loan from the City of Hamilton, which the club repays in annual instalments.

About $1.5 million and 6 years of intense volunteer effort have been invested in making Ancaster TC’s 5 courts year-round with the addition of a seasonal dome. The ward 12 councillor, Lloyd Ferguson, was instrumental in arranging an interest-free loan from the City of Hamilton. Support from Tennis Canada and Rogers enabled the club to purchase the bubble, rather than having to lease it. Ribbon cutting was on November 3. There are 440 adult members and 250 juniors, with hundreds more on a wait-list.
