The Fort Erie Tennis Club is located at 353 Central Avenue, on the edge of Oakes Park in Fort Erie. It’s a volunteer-run non-profit within the Town of Fort Erie parks and recreation system. There are 6 primary courts, four of them hard courts and two of hartru. An additional hard court is situated in an opposite direction, but can be used at various times. The court-side clubhouse includes washrooms and office space. Member gatherings take place on the picturesque front porch and in the spacious picnic pavilion.
A full menu of programs is provided, but the club is best-known for its robust junior program which offers subsidized services to the community as a result of club volunteers contributing to local Bingo operations. The club is also home to the Niagara Slam – a large Can-Am tournament – for two weeks in July.
